The first Developing Youth Leadership Conference is in the books. The Central Region of the Order of the Arrow was put on the board to pull off the newest training in the organization. This training takes the place of the National Lodge Adviser Training (NLATS), but I would hardly call this a replacement. During the past two years the Order of the Arrow has done a self evaluation and recognized that we needed to shift our adult training from being a day-to-day operation approach and move into a true explanation of the advising cycle and what it takes to be truly be an inspirational advisor. I was honored to be a member of this inaugural staff. We experienced the bumps and bruises that is to be expected with a brand new weekend, but this exceptional staff was able to pull it all together. I am excited to see the impact this training will have on the organization for the years to come.
